The Department of State and Programs

-The United State’s Department of State is an extension of the executive branch, which advises the President and deals with foreign policy issues. It is responsible for international relations, negotiating treaties, and representing the US abroad. Rex Tillerson is currently serving as the secretary of State.

-The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs is responsible for overseeing the Congress-Bundestag Program, which was founded in 1983 to commemorate the 300th year anniversary of the first German immigration to the U.S. This program is entirely funded through Congress and aims to promote greater connections between the US and Germany. Unfortunately, recently, this program has risked being cut altogether. Now, it is more important than ever to show the significance of this program.
